Service Description

TEACH-Her Beauty is a unique approach to inspire young adults to become highly qualified and licensed practitioners in the hair and beauty industry. TEACH-Her Beauty is facilitated by highly qualified salon owners and licensed practitioners, and select cosmetology schools in the area, who will teach transferable and marketable skills, business acumen via STEAM based interactive learning activities. Male and female participants will learn transferable and marketable skills, business acumen via STEAM based interactive learning activities. Areas of Focus: 1) Goal Setting 2) Communication 3) Professionalism 4) Developing Positive Relationships 5) Body Positivity 6) Money Matters 7) Community Service Some of the businesses the participants will explore include graphic design, cooking, business startup, public speaking, photography, fashion, hair and beauty, fitness, art, and more. June 8-July 29, 2020 DAYS: Monday TIMES: 5-8pm (Schedules will be provided after registration online) SESSION NORMS: Be prepared Be prompt Be professional Be positive BONUS ACTIVITIES: Participants are tasked to create a vision board. Participants can earn community service hours and are encouraged to take part in culminating and community service activities. (TBD via COVID19) *Ongoing mentorship is not guaranteed however can be arranged on a case by case basis pending facilitator availability.
